What does the Victa Lawn Mower, the Winged Keel and Spectra Lighting's Cercio 65 all have in common? The answer is, they have won the prestigious Australian Design Award. The Australian Design Awards is Australia's only national design award recognised for its important role in promoting Australian design nationally and internationally. The aims of the Australian Design Awards are to present to the Australian public and the world, the best examples of Australian design, innovation and the high quality of design expertise available to manufacturers.
The Cercio product built a great name in the architectural lighting industry as an extremely serviceable tool for lighting open areas seamlessly using the one type of luminaire. After undergoing an extensive development program the final product is extremely versatile delivering high output quality performance. The new modular design is easily adapted to suit single pole, duo pole and wall mount installations using common componentry. The optics, available in forward and side throw distributions, can be rotated at 90° to provide further illumination options. The optical construction delivers perfect control of light distribution enabling efficient spacing of fixtures for a cost-effective installation. Whilst the pre-treated marine grade cast aluminium body provides corrosion resistance, which increases the durability and reliability of the fixture. A variety of light sources and lamp wattages allow specific solutions to be customised creating differing outcomes to satisfy most requirements.
Security and safety of people is an important consideration when choosing outdoor public lighting and the Cercio 65's design certainly takes this into account. The incoming mains cable is retained ensuring that the vertical pole weight of the cables does not apply tension at the fixture's cable terminal and the mains block is fused for individual fault protection. The internal electrical components are protected by metal heat shields to provide operational longevity. All external components that are accessible during on-site maintenance such as the glass lens, optical tray, and fixing screws are held captive to the main body for safety reasons.
The Cercio 65 will deliver excellent performance in harsh outdoor environments with little maintenance incorporating many features that make this product worthy of the recognition of an Australian Design Award. It is perfect to illuminate any open area including car parks, drive ways, transport platforms and retail shopping centres, etc.
